William L. Davis, chairman, president and CEO of RR Donnelley (Chicago), has announced his plans to retire. He will remain with the company until his replacement is named. The board of directors is conducting a search for a successor.
“When I joined RR Donnelley in 1997, my personal goal was to lead for a period of five to seven years and retire,” Davis relates. “While I will miss being part of the team, I'm eager to begin this new stage of my life.”
Under Davis' leadership, RR Donnelley embarked on a major transformation from a commercial printer to an integrated communications-solutions provider.
In related company news, John C. Campanelli, president of RR Donnelley Logistics, has been promoted to president of RR Donnelley's print business. This business is responsible for magazine, book, telephone directory and catalog/retail insert printing, as well as premedia services. William R. McLennan has been promoted to president of RR Donnelley Logistics.
