IST America Corp. introduces Reduced Down Time technology, which minimizes the downtime that occurs when blanket washers are used with interdeck UV drying and curing units. Utilizing standby power technology, the Reduced Down Time concept permits operating sealed, water-cooled drying units without exhaust air evacuation in standby mode. Units can be automatically placed in standby mode when blanket washing is initiated, and then returned to full operating performance in less than three seconds when washing is complete.
IST America's BLK-U UV drying systems for web presses permit operating UV lamps with no exhaust air ducting. The unit features high-efficiency heat exchangers and may be operated in either of two modes. In conventional operation, the unit is air-cooled, and the design efficiency reduces the heat radiated from the unit. However, with a push of a button, this unit can be converted to low-oxygen, inert nitrogen cooling, permitting the use of specialized inks and coatings that require an inert atmosphere.
