HDIA members benefit from unique information, online services and industry networking opportunities

The Heidelberg Digital Imaging Assn. (HDIA) is an independent organization of companies that are currently using Heidelberg technologies in their day-to-day operations. Members are printers, publishers, inplants and graphic arts firms working with Heidelberg DI presses, digital printing systems, workstations, scanners, platesetters, RIPs, servers, software and DTP technologies. These are industry people who want to know everything there is to know, and HDIA provides answers to tough problems as well as insights into applications you may not have thought of.

“HDIA PROVIDES A COMMON PLATFORM FOR PEOPLE WITH THE SAME NEEDS, DESIRES AND GOALS. YOU CAN DEVELOP FRIENDS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY.”
CHRIS JACKSON, HARPER HOUSE

HDIA members represent every corner of the industry, from printers and trade shops to corporate publishers and retailers, service bureaus, publishers, multimedia agencies and design firms. They are as small as local Mom & Pop shops and as large as the best-known names in the industry.

This diversity means you can take advantage of the power of membership. From networking with other users to communicating with a louder voice to vendors, HDIA benefits run deep. In this time of industry and market change, having information that helps you get the most from technology allows members to improve productivity and expand their business.

“We've found that HDIA provides a common platform for people with the same needs, desires and goals,” says Chris Jackson of Harper House (Dallas). “Networking is a big, big advantage of membership in HDIA. You can develop friends all over the country and exchange new ideas by working with peers.”

HDIA keeps its members in the know by keeping its finger on the pulse of Heidelberg and industry events. And it keeps important issues and concerns in front of the manufacturers through constant HDIA contact with every level of the organization.

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

For only $450 a year, HDIA member companies receive a wealth of benefits. In addition to the HDIA annual meeting described in this supplement, members receive a subscription to the popular Quickie Questions and Friday Quickie Replies. This twice-weekly newsletter features user-submitted questions and answers about Heidelberg products, as well as news and commentary about the industry.

In addition international telephone conferences help members keep in touch without having to travel. These conferences are a big success among busy production personnel who find it time-consuming and expensive to travel. The 60- to 90-minute call-in sessions feature in-depth discussions with Heidelberg product experts in the U.S., Canada and Germany.

“Membership in HDIA puts you in contact with important players at Heidelberg. Access to product managers and R&D engineers allows us to communicate our needs and give direct input. It's a pipeline directly to Heidelberg product development,” adds Jackson.

“WE RELY HEAVILY ON OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH HEIDELBERG, AND HDIA IS ANOTHER WAY TO BROADEN THAT RELATIONSHIP. THE ASSOCIATION BRINGS TOGETHER A GREAT GROUP OF PEOPLE AND PRESENTS A HOST OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR BUSINESS.”
JOHN DELOACH, CROWSON STONE PRINTING

Another member benefit is the HDIA InstantNews, which brings members announcements about product launches, mergers and acquisitions, strategy changes and other news from Heidelberg and other vendors. HDIA's Friday Quickie newsletter surveys users, vendors and industry experts each week, and reports the results on a new subject weekly.

Want more information? The HDIA website at www.hdia.org helps members catch up on the latest news and commentary. In addition, the HDIA Membership Roster details company and equipment information on fellow members. If you want to compare notes with someone who just bought Prinergy or a Topsetter or a Digimaster 9110, the Roster can be invaluable.

“We use all types of Heidelberg equipment throughout our operation,” comments John DeLoach of Crowson Stone Printing in Columbia, SC. “Our involvement with Heidelberg starts with its new order entry system and extends through to the use of CIP4 in our finishing operations with Compucut. We rely heavily on our relationship with Heidelberg. HDIA is another way to broaden that relationship. The association brings together a great group of people and presents a host of opportunities for our business.”

Membership in HDIA is the best way to take full advantage of the equipment you already own. Don't waste time reinventing the wheel. Share information with fellow Heidelberg users. Talk to people who have the same equipment you do — they may have a better, more productive way of doing business.
