IPP Lithocolor/Randolph Street Press (Chicago) recently held an open house to celebrate the installation of its Komori Lithrone S40 press. About 150 guests dropped by to check out the new press' fast makeready and color-management capabilities. Representatives from Sappi and Unisource were on hand to highlight the latest coated and uncoated paper developments, while Diecrafters (Cicero, IL) provided information on diecutting, foil stamping and embossing.
IPP Lithocolor and Randolph Street Press are two separate entities, but work closely together, with a combined 58 employees occupying 60,000 sq. ft. IPP Lithocolor, a prepress shop specializing in advertising work, was founded almost 50 years ago. Randolph Street Press, founded eight years ago, is known for printing in-store signage and brochures.
