International Paper (Memphis, TN) has revised “Pocket Pal,” its popular introductory handbook to the graphic arts. Frank Romano of RIT's (Rochester, NY) School of Print Media is the editor of the 19th edition.

“This edition attempts to put conventional and digital printing into proper perspective and show what impact the new systems are having on the present and future uses and markets of printing,” says Romano. Topics covered include: digital imaging, CTP, digital workflows, processless plates and UV and violet lasers that allow use of conventional plates, toners and digital inks, color management, binding, graphic terms and an overview of International Paper Printing Papers.

One to 24 copies are available at ippocketpal.com for $14 each; cost is $12.50 each for 25 to 49 copies, $11.50 each for 50 to 99 copies, and $10.50 each for 100 or more copies.
