Nordson Corp.'s (Duluth, GA) new PURBlue 4 adhesive melter simplifies the use of moisture-cure reactive hot melt adhesives from 2-, 3- or 4-kg foil encased slugs, without the need for inert gas. Designed for use in low consumption PUR applications, potential opportunities include clear box packaging, bookbinding, edge banding and product assembly.
PURBlue 4 melters heat only a small amount of adhesive, as needed, to reduce thermal stress and protect the bonding characteristics of unused PUR. The intuitive design offers simple, reliable operation, allowing empty foil bags to be changed quickly and easily, while graphical controls simplify programming and operation.
“In addition to simple operation and easy maintenance, the PURBlue 4 melter's melt-on-demand process offers quick, easy startup and shutdown with efficient adhesive use,” says Mark Reifenberger, product line manager, Nordson Corp.
