The Colad Group, LLC (www.colad.com), presentation and promotional packaging provider in Buffalo, NY, recently purchased a Xeikon (Itasca, IL) 6000 digital color press. “Xeikon's powerful X-800 digital front end will allow us to provide dynamic variable-data packaging, contents and personalized collateral to help our customers penetrate their markets and fuel their brands through increased read & response rates,” says Todd Anson, president, Colad. “With Xeikon, Colad will be able to offer dynamic presentation and promotional packaging solutions at quantities of 1 through 10,000 with responsive schedules and economical prices, while maintaining the high levels of print and product quality for which Colad is well known.”

The company's capabilities include design and prototyping, packaging prepress services, offset and digital printing, film laminating and UV coating, diecutting, casemaking, gluing, mounting, fulfillment and mailing.

“It's all about being responsive,” says Anson. “If the customer wants 20 decorated prototypes for a sales presentation, 300 personalized FSC-certified binders with contents and custom shippers, or 4,000 dimensional packages printed with variable data and personalized for each recipient, Colad can provide a solution with the addition of this Xeikon digital press,” concluded Anson.

The Xeikon 6000 is capable of running 20-inch-wide rolls with virtually no limitations in length with substrate weights as light as 27 lb. text and as heavy as 16 pt. paperboard. The press also features full-color One-Pass Duplex (simultaneous double-sided) printing capabilities and print speeds of up to 10,200 letter-size pages per hour for text-weight stocks and 4,440 letter-size pages per hour for the heaviest paperboard stocks. The press comes standard with the Xeikon X-800 digital front end.
