Heidelberg announced German printer Stünings is the first to buy a Ricoh Pro C901 Graphic Arts Edition from the offset press vendor. Heidelberg announced its global sales partnership with Ricoh just prior to digi:media, which took place in Düsseldorf from April 7 to 9, 2011.

“We can create high-quality short runs and personalized mailings, flyers and catalogs,” said Stefan Willms, technical manager at Stünings. “The future support of Heidelberg Systemservice is important to us, and the link between Ricoh's press workflow and Heidelberg's Prinect workflow also [influenced] our decision.”

Heidelberg will start selling the 90-ppm Ricoh Pro C901 to coincide with key trade shows such as Graph Expo in the U.S. and IGAS in Japan. The final step, the global market launch in Eastern Europe, is scheduled to take place at Drupa 2012.
