The U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) names Charles Riddle as Chief Information Officer (CIO). Riddle brings nearly two decades of experience in leading complex information technology (IT) organizations. He came to GPO from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety Inspection Service, where he worked for five years, most recently serving as CTO. In this position Riddle planned, managed, and executed an annual IT budget of $76 million and supported more than 9,000 employees nationwide.  Riddle earned his Bachelor's Degree in Communications from George Mason University and his Master's Degree in Business from Johns Hopkins University.

"GPO welcomes Chuck as the leader of the agency's IT team," says Chief of Staff Davita Vance-Cooks. "Chuck's experience and expertise will be critical to GPO as we continue to transform the agency into a digital information provider for the Federal Government."

"I am excited to join an agency that has become the digital information platform for the Federal Government," says Riddle.  "I look forward to making sure GPO has the latest technological tools available to serve Congress, Federal agencies and the American public."

GPO's CIO manages and provides policy guidance and oversight of agency-wide IT policies and standards relating to the acquisition, implementation and operation of telecommunications and IT systems of the agency. Riddle will be responsible for developing and maintaining operating budgets for network IT systems consistent with programmatic plans and established financial guidelines and monitoring activities and costs related to the overall utilization of information resources required to meet programmatic operations requirements.
