American Printer's mission is to be the most reliable and authoritative source of information on integrating tomorrow's technology with today's management.

Put the reader first. That's our goal at AMERICAN PRINTER. We've been a trusted resource for commercial printers since 1883. We are proud to enter our 128th year of serving the commercial printing industry. But we are prouder still to be innovators rather than curators.
In 2011, we have a fresh look and renewed commitment to bringing senior executives cutting edge content across all media. We have the market knowledge, industry trends and new products our readers crave.
AMERICAN PRINTER is concise, informative and effective. Every issue features:
Like our readers, we embrace new technology. From webinars to video product guides, we are helping printers stay abreast of a rapidly changing industry. Printers rely on our comprehensive online archive, conveniently grouped by One-Stop category, to research new equipment and trends. Our e-newsletter, InRegister, delivers news, technical innovations and expert analysis. Staff and guest bloggers provide timely online updates.
Great magazines are made by great people. This is my 14th year with AMERICAN PRINTER and I couldn't be prouder to be a part of the Penton team. It is truly a pleasure to work with our dedicated sales, editorial, online, production and support staff. Special thanks are due to Scott Bieda, Denise Kapel and Nsenga Thompson — I would be lost without them. Credit for our sharp new look belongs to senior art director Michael Koch. Michael spent months researching, creating and presenting our redesign. His enthusiasm, creativity and patience inspired us, and we couldn't be more pleased with the result. We hope you like it, too.
We remember and celebrate our past. But we are eager to help readers invent their futures. We look forward to telling your story in AMERICAN PRINTER!
Katherine O'Brien, editor in chief
