DG3 North America (DG3), a global print and communications solutions provider, will purchase 4,320 renewable energy certificates (REC’s) over the next seven months from Hess Corp. to help support the development of renewable energy in the United States.

An REC represents the property rights to the environmental benefits derived from electricity generated by renewable sources such as wind, solar, biomass and wave motion.

“By working with Hess to support the production of renewable energy, DG3 North America is helping drive the global company’s overall initiative to make a real, positive impact on the environment. We selected Hess Energy to provide both our electricity and the RECs, in order to ensure our energy purchases are made as green as possible,” says Joe Lindfeldt, executive vice president of corporate development, DG3. “Our decision to purchase Hess RECs is consistent with our company-wide environmental effort, which include a 100 percent closed-loop printing process, and it is quickly positioning our company to become one of America’s ‘greenest’ printers.”
