The Egan Printing Co. (Denver) will showcase its new green initiatives at its company open house on Thursday February 5. These initiatives include a complete solar power system, a more environmentally friendly printing process and an employee incentive program.
The company is implementing a new energy strategy that will make their facility completely carbon neutral with minimum assistance from utilities. Egan will accomplish this by replacing its current HVAC system with a more efficient one, installing solar panels, and upgrading to high efficiency.
In addition to its new energy strategy, Egan is using inks and processes with low to zero volatile organic chemical (VOC) contents; the removal of heavy metals and alcohol from its workflow; and utilizing computer-to-plate technology, digital printing, and a Ph balanced plate developing chemistry. Egan is also implementing a more intensive recycling program and an employee incentive program that rewards employees on a quarterly basis for achieving “green” goals.
The open house will feature refreshment, plant tours and a drawing for an HD plasma TV and other prize. See http://www.eganprinting.com.
