ImageX, Inc. (Kirkland, WA), a provider of online systems for distributing, managing and producing sales and marketing materials, has received notification from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office that two patents will be issued.

These patent filings apply to the ImageX online technology, which allows users to customize sales and marketing materials, such as product specification sheets and marketing brochures, and then see a real-time PDF proof of the printed piece. The first patent notification covers the method and apparatus for converting a PostScript file to a PDF file within an automated printing system. ImageX has also received a patent notification on a method of converting a PDF file to PostScript format within an automated print system, which automatically renders the file print-ready. This method allows ImageX to ensure that the PDF proof a customer approves online appears exactly as it was approved when it is printed.
