Steinemann Technology, Print2Finish announce Graph Expo plans

In their shared Graph Expo 2010 booth 1265, Steinemann Technology AG (St. Gallen/Switzerland) and its North American representative, Print2Finish LLC / Yardley USA, will demonstrate finishing with UV varnishes and laminated films.

Based on real samples from practice, the two partners will give visitors a first-hand impression of why manufacturers of branded goods and other print buyers boost their sales when they opt for innovative special effects on packagings and other advertising media. These will include print samples finished on the HIBIS 104 high-end rotary screen and flexo printing machine using relief and textured varnishes, glitter and metallic inks, thermosensitive varnishes, or scratch-and-sniff and rub-off inks. This flexible varnishing system can apply particularly large quantities of varnish, from 3 g/m2 to as much as 150 g/m2.

"There's growing global demand for high-end print products that stand out from the crowd with the help of effects that give them a special look, feel and smell. What was previously reserved exclusively for the top end of the market, such as cosmetics packagings, is today widely used on medium-priced products as well. But many print buyers, agencies, print and finishing providers are still not aware of the enormous variety of special effects that can nowadays be realised at low cost thanks to innovative technologies. We want to let these special effects speak for themselves," says Jürg Spittler, vice president, Steinemann Technology, and head of the business unit Graphic.

The booth will show the latest videos on the entire Steinemann Technology product portfolio, which encompasses the HIBIS and COLIBRI UV varnishing systems, together with the SYRIUS (water/thermal) and LOTUS (polyurethane) laminating systems.
