Quark Inc. (Denver) has acquired the assets and technology of NJ-based GLUON, a software company that has developed tools for the corporate and publishing industries. The acquisition includes GLUON’s HyperPublishing System suite of products, which Quark will integrate into its dynamic publishing software to enable enterprise-scale web-to-print, variable-data printing and advertising automation solutions.

Quark and GLUON have partnered for years to integrate QuarkXPress Server with GLUON’s HyperPublishing System to create automated print and multichannel solutions for corporate marketing departments, printers, advertising agencies, publishers, designers and governmental agencies. The acquisition of GLUON’s HyperPublishing System allows Quark to strengthen its ability to offer customers the technology for creating customized, design-rich documents that can be dynamically changed or created on-demand.

As part of the acquisition, Quark also gains GLUON XTensions and Plug-ins that add efficiencies and capabilities to QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Illustrator. These will continue to be developed by the GLUON team and remain available through the GLUON online store as well as through specialist distributors and resellers globally.

GLUON’s employees will join Quark and will continue to provide their expertise to customers in development, implementation, and customer support.
